We all been there…you wake up after a long night with the most unflattering under eye bags. Or it’s that time of the month and the blemishes are coming out!
We all need that extra coverage sometimes. Many years back I was applying tons of layers of foundation to cover the imperfections of my face. I was so WRONG.
Too much foundation will make the face look cakey and patchy. The best thing to do is to color correct with concealer and then apply a thin layer of foundation to even out the skin tone. I know concealers can be a little scary at first but trust me it’s your best friend on a rainy day!
The color green neutralizes the color red, which is why green concealers are wonderful for getting rid of any redness on your face. I have rosacea so green conceal is the best thing ever for my skin. instead of applying thick foundation or many layers of foundation I use a green base primer & I spot conceal with green concealer. You can also use green concealer to cover up pimple, scares or the redness around your noise which most people have.
Purple is the best to cover unwanted yellow undertones on your skin. People with a pasty, dull, yellow complexion will love how a purple concealer or primer adds a beautiful glow to their face. To remove yellow tones from your entire face, consider a color correcting purple primer. If you’re looking to conceal yellow spots, a spot concealer is best.
These are ideal for brightening around the eye area. Most people naturally have dark under eyes or just if you sleep less for few days you will see the results under your eyes.
Yellow Concealer is the best for hiding purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles. Yellow concealers are typically the most general, and are great for evening out skin tone to give a bright base for your foundation. You can also use this concealer for eye primer since naturally most peoples veins shows on their lead since it is a very thin layer of skin.
If you’re one of the lucky ones that doesn’t have too many problem areas to hide, this will work fine for you. Any regular concealer should work to veil little imperfections or the occasional pimple. I always advise to go a shade lighter for under the eyes and a color similar to your shade for spot concealing.
